Both nutritionists and dietitians are tertiary qualified nutrition professionals with the expertise to provide a range of evidence-based nutrition services.

However, clinical nutritionists take a holistic approach to health, treating each person as unique and addressing all aspects of their life that may be contributing to their current health concerns – not just the physical aspects.

Clinical nutritionists provide a thorough health assessment that includes investigation of the body systems, a complete medical history, dietary analysis and lifestyle choices. In this way, clinical nutritionists can assist with the prevention or management of many complex health conditions through dietary modifications, nutritional supplementation and lifestyle changes.

During your initial consultation, we ask a range of questions to find out what’s going on with your health physically, mentally and emotionally. 

We listen closely as you tell us about your personal and family medical history, current health concerns, symptoms and goals. We discuss your different body systems, lifestyle habits and diet. We take measurements including temperature, height, weight, blood pressure and bio impedance analysis (more on this below).

During the consultation, we discuss how a personalised program might fit best with your lifestyle and preferences. Some initial dietary and lifestyle recommendations will be provided while your detailed short-term and long-term plan will be discussed at your next consultation. This will contain:

  • Dietary modifications
  • Nutritional supplement program
  • Lifestyle recommendations
  • BIA assessment report

We usually recommend a follow-up consultation between 2 to 4 weeks after your first consultation depending on your presenting complaint. The aim of your follow-up session is to review your progress and adapt your plan as required.

Bio impedance analysis (BIA) is a computerised assessment tool for your current state of health. It’s an accurate way to measure your body composition, including body fat, lean muscle mass, hydration, bone mineral mass, metabolic rate and metabolic age. With this information, we gain a deeper picture of what’s going on for you on a cellular level and can better assess and monitor your state of health.

Some health funds provide rebates for consultations with a nutritionist but rebates vary according to your health insurer and level of cover. We recommend you contact your private health fund directly to be sure of your entitlements.

We accept credit card (sorry no Amex), EFTPOS or cash payments. Fees are payable on the day of consultation.

Privacy is of the utmost importance to us and all personal information is confidential. No one has access to your client file except your practitioner.

We understand that life can be unpredictable. If you’re unable to attend your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible to re-schedule and give another client the opportunity to receive treatment. Failure to give a minimum of 24 hours’ notice or non-attendance will incur the full consult fee.

The Autoimmune Protocol is a holistic approach to health, including not only a dietary framework but also a focus on lifestyle factors known to be important modulators of immune function, gut health, and hormone health. The dietary protocol consists of an elimination diet strategy, cutting out the foods that are most likely to be holding back our health. After a period of time, many of the excluded foods, especially those that have nutritional merit, can be reintroduced.

The AIP diet is generally undertaken for 30-90 days depending on your individual symptoms. Once most symptoms are gone, food reintroductions can begin to take place slowly starting with the most nutrient dense foods.

The AIP lifestyle encourages sufficient sleep, stress management and physical activity as these are important immune modulators. Extremely high intensity training is discouraged as it can have a negative effect on the gut microbiome.
